Missouri Tax Credit News
The election - Missouri impact - November 07, 2012
From a tax credit perspective, it looks like things went as well as possible for those who want to preserve Missouri tax credit programs. One of our biggest enemies, Senator Jim Lembke was defeated.
Governor Jay Nixon was reelected. Although he has been working to rein in tax credits, his efforts appear to be far less draconian than those of Dave Spence. We will have to wait and see, like we do every session of the Missouri legislature, what will happen. We expect a balanced approach to reasonable reform.
Peter Kinder was elected to a third term as Lt. Governor. There has been no greater supporter of tax credits. He has always stood up for credits as a member of MHDC and is not afraid to voice his opinion.
Let's hope that the end of gridlock is here!
