Rutgers University just released its Third Annual Report on the Economic Impact of the Federal Historic Tax Credit. The study shows that historic rehabilitation benefits state economies as well as the national economy. In fiscal year 2011 alone, the historic tax credit generatd 64,000 jobs and $2.7 billion in income. In Missouri alone, the 2011 HTC spending resulted in 3,500 jobs, $367.6 million in output, $163.2 million in labor income, $196.3 million in GSP and $42.5 million in taxes.

Hopefully the Missouri legislature will get the message.
