Politics is a very funny thing, particularly when it comes to the State of Missouri. The leaders that are trying to drastically cut the Missouri historic tax credit program and many of the other Missouri tax credit programs are Senators Jason Crowell and Senator Jim Lembke. Normally we would not consider them friends. However, they are upset with several other bills (ie unemployment compensation) and have been slowing up other agenda items with their filibuster. As suggested on this blog in January, the clock may run out on legislation to decimate Missouri tax credits. The important thing for industry lobbyists is to watch that an amendment doesn't get tacked on to another bill late one evening near the close of the session. Stay tuned. Missouri historic, Missouri low-income, and other Missouri tax credits are not safe just yet.
