Missouri income tax refunds - the new law - July 13, 2010
Governor Nixon has signed a bill which shortens the time that the Department of Revenue can take to process income tax refunds without having to pay interest. The new legislation moves the time from 4 months from the later of the date the return was filed or the due date of the return down to 90 days. For amended tax returns the interest will be included for refunds paid 90 days after the return was filed.
The interest rate for Q2 of 2010 was 1.6% and for the Q3 it is 1.3%.
