The Missouri state auditor prepared a scathing report as to the inefficiency of the Missouri LIHTC program. The report correctly indicates that the pricing for Missouri low-income housing tax credits is very low compared to other states and to other programs in Missouri ( ie Missouri historic tax credit program). The report goes on to suggest improvements to the Missouri LIHTC program.

As a result, MHDC solicited proposals from professional service firms to suggest. Reznick and Bryan Cave were selected for this assignment. The outcome is not yet know, but it is possible that the Missouri low-income housing tax credit will be certificated and be on equal footing with Missouri historic tax credits, Missouri brownfield tax credit, Missouri Neighborhood preservation tax credit, etc
